Just after being acquitted in his 14-day assault trial in LA, A$AP Rocky has officially been announced as Ray-Ban’s first-ever creative director.

A$AP’s partnership will include collections, store design, campaign direction, and much more.

The 88-year-old label plans to use this partnership as a catalyst to facilitate the birth of something unique.

“We are not a traditional brand. We never had a creative director, so we wanted the first one to be untraditional and revolutionary,” said Ray-Ban president Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio.

Even during his trial, the Ray-Ban frames were a staple accessory in his court outfits, which points to an already brewing partnership.

A$AP’s first project with the brand, called “Blacked Out Collection,” will be released in April and will reimagine some of the brand’s iconic frames.
